Kindergarten Enrolment

Enrolments for Kindergarten are taken the year before the child starts school. Please ensure that you complete the Enrolment form. Kindergarten children must be five years old by the 31st July in order to be enrolled. You will need to provide the following documentation prior to your child starting school:

  • Birth certificate or passport
  • Complete Immunisation certificate
  • Proof of residential address, (eg original copies of council rates notice, lease agreement, electricity account, statutory declaration etc)

Students arriving from overseas will need to bring their passports and visas when enrolling at school and special conditions may exist for some visa holders. Students on Temporary Visas are required to contact the International Business Unit to determine whether or not they are required to pay a fee to the Department of Education and Training.

Cecil Hills Public School’s enrolment policy gives priority to students living within the school’s enrolment boundaries. Students who live outside the local area may be enrolled at the school as long as there are places available for in-area students, or in exceptional circumstances. Decisions regarding enrolment will be made by the school’s enrolment committee.

Kinder Orientation and Transition to School

Kindergarten Orientation and transition days are held each year in Term 4 (see calendar for this year's dates). This allows the new students to become familiar with the school prior to their first day of school as well as teachers to work with the students.

While children are becoming familiar with the school environment through classroom activities, we will be running workshops for parents. These workshops are aimed at providing parents and carers with valuable information to support families in this extremely important transition. Schedules will be published towards the end of the calendar year.

Kindergarten – The First Day

Kindergarten children commence school after years 1-6 have already started. This information will be communicated to parents during the orientation process. Please watch our video " A Day in the life of a Kindergarten Student at Cecil Hills Public School" click here
